Welcome to Aesthetic Family Dentistry
What To Expect On Your First Visit
Congratulations! You’ve just taken the first step to joining a dental family that is fully committed to being part of your journey to excellent oral health … for life. Making the choice of a new dental care provider for your family can be a hard one. And you want to know this choice is the right one for your family. We encourage you to explore our website for answers to your oral health questions … starting with what to expect at your first appointment.
When you arrive for your first appointment, the first thing we need to do is fully understand your medical and dental history. There are many connections between oral health and overall general health, and we take these connections seriously. We are committed to you and your family, and that commitment doesn’t stop at your mouth. Please be assured that all your Protected Health Information (PHI) is kept strictly private. You can read more about our Privacy Practices here.
After you have met our front office team you have a chance to see our state-of-the-art operatories (exam rooms) that are thoroughly cleaned and sterilized after each patient visit. Once seated, we invite you to sit back and relax.
Oral Hygiene Care
An important part of preventing oral health issues is to receive regular oral hygiene care and regular recare exams. At these appointments we will gently clean all those areas that your toothbrush and floss can’t reach and give you or your family members the kind instruction that will allow you to care better for your teeth in between appointments.
Dr. Pillai uses these regular exams to help you achieve the best possible oral health. In addition to helping you understand your oral health in general, Dr. Pillai takes this time to learn more about you and your personal goals for your smile. Whether you have a missing tooth or desire cosmetic changes, this is your opportunity to share what you love about your smile – and what you’d like changed. Then we work with you to achieve these goals.
Part of regular dental care requires x-rays and diagnostics. Digital technology makes this part of you visit much more interesting and comfortable. Along with lower-radiation digital x-rays that you can review within moments with Dr. Pillai, we also use a comfortable pen-sized intraoral camera to take pictures or impressions of your teeth. Our patients love that they can see what we see when reviewing these images.
