Dental inlays and onlays are made in a dental lab and then fitted to your tooth. They are then bonded to your tooth.
The difference between inlays and onlays depends on how much of your tooth it covers. If the material is bonded to the center of the tooth, it is considered an inlay. If it covers your whole tooth or more than one point of your tooth, it is considered an onlay.
